About

Control Weeds, Not Farming is dedicated to advocating for the availability of glyphosate to American farmers by working with policymakers, growers, and the agricultural community. Led by Bayer and a diverse group of key agricultural stakeholders, Modern Ag Alliance is an organization that is fighting to protect U.S. farmers’ access to the crop protection tools they need to ensure we have a robust and affordable domestic food supply. Glyphosate-based pesticides are farmers’ #1 tool to control weeds, keep yields high, and implement conservation practices that use less land and resources. These products are integral to the production of our crops, helping America’s farmers compete in an increasingly competitive global market and ensuring a robust and affordable food supply. Unfortunately, despite the fact that no health regulator anywhere in the world has ever found glyphosate to pose a carcinogenic risk to people, a lack of legislative certainty around pesticide labeling has fueled costly litigation, and efforts in states like California to regulate pesticides in a manner inconsistent with federal law and congressional intent, and based on scientifically unsound considerations. While glyphosate is the topic today, if not addressed, the future of valuable crop protection tools and critical innovations may be at stake. As we know, food security is national security. The U.S. is one of only two countries that produce glyphosate. Domestic pesticide production ensures American farmers have the tools they need without relying on foreign countries. Fortunately, state-based legislation has been introduced to provide the legislative certainty needed to protect farmers' access to these safe and approved tools. However, this effort needs your help. Contact your legislator and share your support. The future of farming in America may depend on it!
