Captive agents generally enjoy a greater amount of training, administrative support, leads, and sense of community, but are restricted by a company's product portfolio and lower commissions. On the other hand, independent agents typically enjoy access to more companies, products, and commissions, but usually receive minimal support, training, and camaraderie.
