Dear People of Fairfield A number of people in the LGBTQ+ community endorse Councilman Michael Halley for Mayor for his ability to understand the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and the areas where the City of Fairfield and mayoral position are accountable to upholding non-discrimination laws. Though there is no perfect candidate, we appreciate the respect Mr. Halley has shown through personal and professional interactions. We value his willingness to address direct questions about the LGBTQ+ community. As a community we noticed the other candidate in the December run off election refusing to address direct questions and concerns. In addition, she has publicly stated her support for the current White House administration which is actively working on dismantling equal rights for our community We will not sit idly by. We are active members of our Fairfield community. We care about all generations of our community, from the eldest generations to the youngest. There are many members of the LGBTQ+ community who are at high risk for suicide, murder, harassment, and work place and housing discrimination. Though we've made strides in areas like equal marriage, we are still a vulnerable community working hard to lift each other up in the face of adversity. We need someone in the Mayor's office who is willing to discuss difficult issues and who currently understands the ways the city is responsible to all its citizens equally. We are proud to endorse Michael Halley for City of Fairfield Mayor. Sincerely, Members of the LGBTQ+ Community and Allies: Tricia Nelson, Ellana Hollrah, Francesca Greco, Elizabeth Bunyar, Catherine Paige Daly, Susan Misuraca, Cris Evergreen, Raeann Gonzalez, Victoria Sims, Lu Evergreen, Curtis M. Oliver, Evan Davis, Jared Brown, Dani Hannes, Tam lin Orion Day, Hannah Nichols and other anonymous members Dear People of Fairfield A number of people in the LGBTQ+ community endorse Councilman Michael Halley for Mayor for his ability to understand the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and the areas where the City of Fairfield and mayoral position are accountable to upholding non-discrimination laws.
