As a continuation of our Volunteer Week celebration, Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids Celebrates Four Volunteer Award Nominees: Leah Rae Highly Governor's Award Nominee Jan Kazimour Governor's Award Nominee Leah Rae has 55 years of volunteer service to Mercy Medical Center! She has held numerous positions as a volunteer and is currently octive with Mercy Flowers & Gifts, Auxiliary events, Children's Tours and the Chilkren's dassoom wall art. Mercy is grateful for Leah Roe's dedicated service. Jan has 54 years of volunteer service to Mercy Medical Center. She has been a member of the Mercy Medical Center Board of Trustees since 1983, a member of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors since 2004, hos served in the Emergency Room, 10th Street Information Desk and various greeter positions. Jan enjoys meeting people from all walks of life and considers Mercy "a great place to be." Thank you, Laura Sagers Governor's Award Nominee Jan, for your service! Loura hos been a dedicated volunteer serving the Family Coregivers Center of Mercy for more than five years. She cofacitates an annual book study and ongoing support group, sings in the Together in Song Chorus, and developed a plonning guide for caregivers to prepare for the future. Laura also volunteers in the popular Uncommon Grounds coffee cormer. In 2020, Laura spearheoded the inifial mask making efforts for Mercy Medical Center collecing hundreds of doth masks for staff, volunteers and visitors duing the early stuges of the pandemic. Mercy greaty appreiates Lauros contributions! Alice Tritle United Way of Eost Central lowa Lifetime of Volunteer Service Award Nominee Alice has volunteered at Mercy Medical Center for 29 years. She plays the piano in our 10th Street Entrance, Hollmar and Hall Perine Concer Center. And, since the COVID pandemic, she has sewn over 4,000 masks! Thank you, Alice, for your service! Thank you to all of these nominees and all Mercy Medical Center volunteers for your tireless support of our mission.
