We too, are very worried. COVID-19 cases are at the highest levels since the surge in November of 2020. We join hospitals nationwide in expressing our deep concern about the trends and our ability to continue caring for our community as it deserves. For those who do not think COVID is serious, we wish you could walk our halls to see it - for yourself. Our hospital beds are ful. ICUS are full. Critically ill patients are waiting in our Emergency Departments to be admitted. Our staff are weary and there aren't enough of them. We applaud their resiliency and dedication every day. What happens when your loved one needs care for a heart attack, a broken bone, or pneumonia? We worry that the increase in COVID cases will not leave enough capocity to properly care for our community. for your family members. 2 Are you doing everything you can to help your community hospitals avoid this scenario? We need your help. We need you to GET VACCINATED. Or a booster, if eligible. The reality is that almost all of our COVID inpatients are unvaccinated. We need you to mask in indoor public places, even if you are vaccinated. Especially if you are not. We need you to get tested if you're having symptoms - and do it early. It's harder to care for you later in your illness. Use urgent care or your physician's office. Don't come to the emergency department unless it is an emergency. We need you to stay home if you test positive to keep from infecting others. others who could end up at our hospitals. We need you to care. And to help end this pandemic.
