Happy Birtbalay! Ed was born January 11, 1927 and grew up on a ranch in South Dakota. Classified 1A when he graduated from high school in 1944, Ed chose to join the United States Air Force. He went to boot camp in San Antonio and transferred to a technical school. That Ed Hieb training opened up a new world of possibilities for him. When he returned home in 1955, he immediately applied to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. January 11th Ed enrolled in the winter quarter in 1955, worked very hard, and graduated 35 months later with a degree in electrical engineering. Ed was employed at Collins Radio for 32 years, four years for the company and 28 for the government. Ed and his late wife June were married in 1962. Their children are sons Bradley, MI; Marty, MN, and daughter Jennifer, Kansas City. Ed moved to Keystone Place in 2019. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!
