Hoppy Birthaday! Duane grew up in Washington, IA, and entered the United States Army after high school. He served "3 years, 9 months and 11 days" doing office work in Okinawa. He found no suitable work when he returned in 1952 and decided to enroll at Coe College. He left school after 4 months when he learned Collins was Duane Earll February 4 hiring. His friend Jean was able to transfer from Cargill in Washington to the plant in Cedar Rapids. The couple married in July 1953. Duane retired from Collins in 1987. Duane and Jean left lowa for Gold Canyon, AZ in 2004. Grandchildren lured them back to lowa in 2017, and Keystone Place became their home. Son Steve and his wife Wanda live near Central City, daughter Terri and husband Brian Cohen are in Robbins. One of the three grandchildren is deceased; there are six greats.
