About

Elliott Bros. Truck Line, Inc. was founded in 1933 by Robert and Richard Elliott of rural Dysart, IA. In the early 1940’s they moved from the farm based operation to the south edge of Dysart, IA. They started out like many other trucking companies by hauling livestock and grain to Chicago, IL, then transporting iron and steel out of Chicago, IL into the Midwest. In 1952 Robert’s son Eugene Elliott joined the business and in 1964 took over full ownership. Eugene passed away in 1999 with the legacy to continue through Eugene’s children. Jeff came into the business in 1980 from high school and became Company President after Eugene’s passing. Jeff was quoted at the 50th Anniversary in 1983 as being, “Very optimistic for the future of Elliott Bros. Truck Line.” Jeff also stated, “That providing our employee’s with a nice place to work and giving customers a place to call, request shipments and be confident that it will arrive on time and in good condition was their goal.” “Those things have worked so well for more than 50 years, we see little reason to shift into any other gear, or take the company down any new roads as it rolls along in its second 50 years.” After Jeff’s passing in 2002, Jim Ocheltree was appointed President (after his service to Elliott Bros. since 1972). Eugene’s children Kenny Elliott and Deb Elliott became owners of the company. They still proudly work alongside the team in the shop and with administrative duties. The Elliott Bros. staff includes Dysart terminal staff of 11 and 58 drivers which is something to be proud of. Providing good jobs for so many Cedar Valley residents and beyond. Coordinating the freight lanes, seamless deliveries, timely billings and ensuring safety out on the roadways is job 1 today.
