Our main store is large but easily shoppable. We have a mix of dealer booths and consignments with an array of goods that span from antiques to modern in age and have one of the largest book selections in southeast Iowa.
Our second store (Vintage Raven Too) features several smaller rooms with overflow from the big store, including a ‘tool shed’ with antique, vintage and modern tools and gadgets.
We also proudly support several non-profit organizations, and host two programs, Hope Haven and our own Vintage Raven Kitten Haven:
Hope Haven (based in Burlington, IA) helps people with mental and physical challenges. Their thrift store (Hopefully Yours) enables their clients to work and learn job skills.
The VRKH takes in kittens that have been found or abandoned by their mothers. Our team raises them and tends to their medical needs until they are ready to be adopted out. We have great relationships with local veterinarians as well as the police who work with us in finding the kittens and giving them the best care possible.
We are also supporters of local artists and craftsmen, displaying their works and promoting them in many different ways. And we are proud supporters of Iowa WINs, which works with local immigrants and promotes empathy for immigration and refugee issues globally.
With two more antique stores (Brown Bear’s Basket and the Iris Antique Mall) and several great restaurants in the downtown we make Mt Pleasant an ideal destination for shoppers who want to get off the beaten path and discover new – or at least new to you – treasures.
