About
God has been at work throughout the history of Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.
We were founded by Swedish immigrants to southeast Iowa in 1866. Our current church building, built in 1927, is the third building to stand on the same site (our previous two were destroyed by fire).
Throughout the years, we have changed and adapted our facilities and our ministries as changing times dictated. But consistently, we have sought to keep the central things central: we worship God as a church family and we serve the world with generous hearts.
