About

Mills Seed Co. building was constructed in 1907 to house the Mills Seed Co. It was also used by the Curran Co. and the Washington Pearl Button Co. We are entertaining ideas for the use of the building and currently have many people interested in creating an Center for the Arts. The building's history is very interesting. It started as an economic development project for the community to bring a seed distribution center here from New York. The mail that created required that a new post office be built. For a period of time, the Washington Pearl Button factory utilized the building to "card" buttons (many buttons are still in the building). The Curran Company also operated in the building printing various items including "Talley Cards" for bridge and valentines. The last use was by TRI D sign company. We are interested in documenting all of the history of the building and welcome comments.
