AND The City of Washington Our Loyal and Supportive Donors Washington lowa Betterment Foundation Trees Forever for Tree Planting grants Our Friends at the Washington Evening Journal and KCII Our Committed and Caring Volunteers Who Help With Projects WE'RE ESPECIALLY GRATEFUL FOR: Endowment Gift from the Fenno Family And Memorial Donations Honoring Bonnie Henry And Memorial Donations Honoring Helen Dallmeyer And Individual Donations Made in Memory of Gert Jones Mary Ann Drain Cathy Lloyd Bernadette Pribyl Jim Hanshaw Thank you for choosing to remember your loved one in this way and for supporting the Washington Tree Committee, too. OUR 2019 ACTIVITIES: City Council presentation, Volunteer of the Year, Washington Noon Kiwanis group Recognized as a Tree City USA by The National Arbor Day Association Tree Give Away of 149 trees, Washington lowa Betterment Foundation grant Planted 80 trees at local cemeteries, Washington lowa Betterment Foundation grant Planted 27 trees on WHS campus, FFA students helped, received Trees Forever grant Arbor Day Celebration, WHS campus in May, with Mayor Jaron Rosien 6* year, Sapling Giveaway, 100 swamp white oaks, Chamber Summer Classic Event Committee members planted and pruned trees many trees Contacted homeowners, had hazard or ash trees removed in 2018 and/or 2019 in their city right-of-way. All ofered replacement trees, 2020 planting. Current Washington Tree Committee Members: Rob Bennett, Andy Dahl, Victoria Hansen, Charles Halvorsen, Jayson Keniston, John Marshall, Marde McConnell, Kelly Soukup, Byron Singbeil, and Rick Wagenknecht Together we are "putting down roots for the future in Washington, Iowa."
