About

I have been a registered Republican my entire adult life, have voted for both parties, and I have been considering running for the US House for almost a year now. I have been increasingly discouraged and frustrated with Ashley Hinson’s voting record and her inability to be a true champion for change in Washington. Personally, I think Ashley is a very nice person and I have supported her in the past. But she has shown herself to be a follower, not a leader. I don’t think she is tough enough and I haven’t seen her step-up to challenge the status quo in Congress. The final straw for me was when Ashley voted “Yes” to pass the $95 billion foreign aid package in April. She fell in line behind the establishment and failed to negotiate any legislation or funding to support our efforts at the border. It compelled me to act – our spending is out of control yet our communities have significant needs that aren’t being met here in the U.S. and in Iowa. We should be addressing those needs before any more of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars are given to other countries.
